Best Way to Get Linking Partnters For My Website
Before we start, guess what I am eating right now for lunch? Delicious warm taco soup. Man is it good. And it's so easy to make. It's a hearty soup, great on cold days like today.
Okay... I had signed up for Site Build Its value exchange a while back and haven't had the kind of response I had hoped for. In fact I only had about 4 potential links, two of which were direct competitors and 2 which weren't quite the quality sites I was hoping for.
Maybe I should back up a bit for those of you who don't know what SBI's value exchange is.
If you have a website and want quality links (to improve your SE rankings) this is the best way to go. You get hooked up with other people who also are looking for links. It's a win-win situation. The best part is that it is free and anybody can use it.
All you have to do is submit your website's URL, title, keywords, and description and that's pretty much all there is to it, at least for SBIer's that is.
The first time I listed with value exchange the keywords I used were mexican food recipes and mexican food. I received only 4 potential links as I said above.
Well, I got smart and decided to change my keywords to cooking, Mexican food recipes, cooking tips and recipes and I got 51 potential links. Wow, what a difference that made. The point is: select your keywords carefully. Give it plenty of thought. Look at the keywords that you are using on all your pages before you decide. The first time my list was too narrow. Choosing the right keywords brought great results.
After you get your potential linking partners, then you must make contact with them to decide where your links might go and where you are going to put their's. Mind you I haven't done any of this yet but I do plan on posting here how it goes.
It's better for you to make up ahead of time what you want your link on their site to say. That way you have more control over what the anchor link (the text in the link) says. Why is this important? It affects search enging rankings again. Better to have your link on their site say "Mexican Appetizer Recipes" as oppose to "click here".
SBI is great-- so many tools. Many of which are free. Check back here in a day or two and I am going to show you a great searching tool that is free and extremely useful.
Success to you,
Robin
